- Has becoming a new parent stirred up some unexpected difficult feelings.
If any of these things have come up for you and you would like some help, it may be that DorPIP can offer you the right kind of help and support.
How we can help...
We focus on the very special relationship between parents and infants that develops in the first 1001 critical days of life, from conception to age two.
We help parents and primary carers to bond and attune with their baby through Parent-Infant Therapy and Attachment-led Infant Massage to give them the best start in life
Parent Infant Therapy
Parenting begins in pregnancy. As the foetus develops, parents begin to build up images and ideas about their unborn baby, as well as ideas about themselves as parents.
Often these ideas are influenced by our own experience of childhood and being parented. Depending on this experience, we may wish to replicate these good experiences for our baby. However, if our own experience was lacking we may feel that we want our baby to have something different and better.
The process of bonding is very important for the developing relationship with your baby. Parents that bond with their baby lay strong foundations for health and emotional resilience for life.
We work with you and your baby over a series of one-to-one sessions to help you understand and work through some of your worries and concerns. Taking time to think about the feelings you each may have and finding ways to communicate and enjoy each other.
Attachment-led Infant Massage

DorPIP #Keepintouch Groups
So often we find families would like to keep in touch with each other, or reach out to those who may have been through similar experiences ~ with this in mind, we thought we would set up a members only online and community group for families who have completed Parent-Infant Therapy or Baby Massage through Dorset Parent Infant Partnership!
Our group aims to provide a welcoming, safe and supportive space for expecting and new parents to share ideas, thoughts and their experiences of pregnancy, birth and beyond.
